Sean Betesh, DPM is excited to join the team at Sierra Foot & Ankle as a board-qualified foot and ankle surgeon. Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Betesh will begin serving the greater Carson City area in July 2017 and is eager to help your feet feel young again.
Growing up a multi-sport athlete, Dr. Betesh learned first hand the many ways that inappropriate shoe gear, cleats, and over-activity can contribute to injury. This angle allows Dr. Betesh the unique privilege of seeing foot and ankle concerns from both the patient’s and doctor’s perspectives. He has tremendous empathy for those struggling with foot or ankle related issues and believes strongly in developing individualized treatment plans to guide care.
Dr. Betesh recently completed a comprehensive three year surgical residency at Yale New Haven Medical Center, where he served as chief resident during his final year. Prior to which, he had obtained his bachelor of science degree in Human Physiology from Boston University and his doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery from Des Moines University. Through years of training, Dr. Betesh was exposed to a wide variety of lower extremity ailments ranging from ingrown toenails to complex foot and ankle deformities. He is well versed in both conservative and surgical treatment modalities and takes pride in being up-to-date with education and innovation.
Apart from his career in Podiatry, Dr. Betesh enjoys long-distance running, hiking, golfing, and skiing (downhill and cross country) in his spare time. He prides himself in being a youthful soul, up for any and all new endeavors. He is interested in do-it-yourself projects and enjoys traveling (albeit mostly for the cuisine). He and his girlfriend are interested in the quality of life that northern Nevada offers, and look forward to becoming involved with community events.
