  • Aviation: I am a flight instructor and run a flight school.
  • Music: I play guitar and bass.
  • Computers: I used to be a nerd in my previous life, and continue to program computers and maintain networks.
  • Law enforcement: I am an instructor at the Police Academy in Carson City.

Family and pet info?
I am in a committed relationship. I have three kids, two are mine and one is my partner's. All three are canines.

Special memories of where you previously lived?
In California I used to fly hang gliders a lot. I used to fly in competition and participate in several events at local, national, and international level. I would usually place top 5.

Lessons learned from living in Nevada?
Fly south in the winter! Get away from the snow

Southern California

Special memories of living in southern California.
I grew up in Southern California and raised my family there. This area reminds me of where I grew up, but not as crowded. There is much more open space here, not so much urban sprawl. I am living close to my daughter, so that's a plus.

Lessons learned from living in Nevada
Learning to winterize. I'm getting acclimated to the weather. The winter and the snow are new challenges. I enjoy the seasons, but I'll be feeling cabin fever before spring. I enjoy waking up every morning and seeing the clear sky. I enjoy living here.

  • I came out of retirement to help my daughter with her practice.

  • I was born in Fallon. I've bounced around from CA and NV.
  • I lived in Nebraska for most of my youth, and Alaska for a short time.
  • I really love it here. Nevada is my home.

 

How long have you lived in Nevada:
Off and on, all together, I have lived in Nevada at least 14 years.
Mom is in Nebraska, Dad is in Nevada.

Special memories of living in Nebraska.
I have good memories and a few hard memories. In Nebraska, we lived in a small village of less than 60 people. I attended middle school in an old church house with 17 kids. This is a good memory. I get excited to visit once a year or so.

What have you learned from living in Nevada:
Bad things can happen whether you want them to or not. It's how you deal with them that proves what you can do and what impact it will have on your life. How you deal with "bad things" proves if you have the resolve to get through those times. There is no reason to be regretful. All the bad and all the good. Surviving is just part of it.

Pets:
A 14-year old cat Milo. And 4 fish. Milo has been with me since she was small. She has lived in so many fascinating places, including Alaska.
